My name is Oluwatoyin; you can call me Toyin for short. Caring for people has always been of paramount interest to me. Most of my working life revolves around the health care set up. I have over twenty years of experience working with a wide range of people with different needs in the hospital, care home, and community. I am currently working as a live in carer, providing a service that is safe, discreet, flexible, and reliable to elderly clients. I am naturally caring and like looking after others. Being able to assist someone who is limited in helping themselves fully in their wellbeing is not only rewarding but a great feeling. I love spending time with the elderly, talking to them, cooking well balanced, nutritious meals for them, and generally making their lives happier. I have great experience working with clients with early dementia and frail elderly clients. I am able to look after clients that are mobile and require moving and handling. I have an NVQ level three in health and social science and up to date relevant training with certificates. I am looking for four weeks on and one week off. 7 years ago, with no previous knowledge or experience, i volunteered full time as a respite carer as a means to an end. i learned a lot about various health illnesses and conditions i had never heard of before or only knew very little about, but most importantly, i found endless fulfilment in being genuinely relied upon for support and companionship, getting to know the individuals in my care as well as their families and friends and constantly finding ways to make life a little easier for these individuals. after volunteering, i knew that i wanted to "care" a bit more. 7 years later, I am still caring and loving every minute of it.
